As a firm, we recognise the need for a comprehensive corporate social responsibility programme which responds to key social and environmental concerns through a variety of outlets from pro-bono work to environmental initiatives.
Each year Watson Burton aims to support one charity which is close to the hearts of its staff. St Oswalds Hospice was chosen as the result of a staff vote after it was nominated by an employee.
More than 120 lawyers and business support staff across the firm’s offices in Newcastle, Leeds and London will fundraise throughout the year to raise money for the hospice, which provides specialist hospice care to North East adults, young people and children with life-limiting conditions.
Patrick Harwood, Watson Burton CEO, said: “As a firm we are enthusiastic about fundraising, and passionate about giving back to the communities in which we live and work. We look forward to the year ahead, and the inventive fundraising challenges which many of our staff plan to undertake.”
