praised for 'caring about its clients and the work they do'
As a firm, we recognise the need for a comprehensive corporate social responsibility programme which responds to key social and environmental concerns through a variety of outlets from pro-bono work to environmental initiatives.
With this in mind, Watson Burton’s annual nominated charitable cause to receive our support this year is the Northern Chords Festival.
Northern Chords is a North East based chambers festival which showcases young talent from the UK and further afield and is rapidly establishing itself as one of the major music events of the year in the region. The festival is the brainchild of 23-year-old musical protégé Jonathan Bloxham, from Whickham, Gateshead and is now celebrating its third year of success. As a firm which is dedicated to the development of young enterprise, arts and culture, Watson Burton is proud to be prinicipal sponsor of such a unique event.
Internally, the firm has opted to set up a charity committee which consists of employees from across the organisation who are committed to organising fundraising activities for personnel. Funds raised from these activities are donated to a nominated national charity, voted for by personnel. This year, the organisation selected to benefit from the firm's fundraising is leading cancer charity Cancer Research UK.
