Rebecca, who has joined the firm’s commercial litigation team, spent two years on Watson Burton’s graduate programme, which she undertook after completing a Legal Practice Course at Northumbria University.
Having qualified as a solicitor at Watson Burton, Rebecca will now be undertaking a range of legal work across areas including property litigation, commercial disputes, data theft and fraud.
Originally hailing from Newcastle, Rebecca gained a degree in Geography from Sheffield University before embarking on a career in law. She joined Watson Burton’s graduate trainee programme in August 2015 and gained experience across the corporate, commercial litigation, real estate and professions and insurance departments.
Rebecca commented: “The graduate traineeship at Watson Burton proved to be an excellent way in which to progress my legal career and it’s really exciting to be continuing my journey in the field of commercial law with such a prestigious and well-established firm.
“The commercial litigation team deals with a wide range of high profile clients, which is really exciting for me, and I greatly enjoy the broad spectrum of work I’m involved in on a day to day basis.”
Chris Graham, partner in Watson Burton’s commercial litigation team, said: “Our graduate traineeship programme continues to provide Watson Burton with talented legal professionals who embrace our company culture and have built up a comprehensive understanding of commercial law over their time with the firm.
“We’re delighted that Rebecca has successfully qualified as a solicitor and has joined our commercial litigation team: she has repeatedly demonstrated a great aptitude for this area of legal practice and we’re looking forward to her contributing to the success of the firm and the valuable work we carry out for our clients.”
