who we are

We can trace our roots in the North to 1811 and celebrate our 200th anniversary in 2011. The practice first originated in the Victorian era, largely developed by eminent lawyer and philanthropist, Robert Spence Watson.

More recently a carefully planned, long-term strategy saw the firm move to state of the art offices in Newcastle city centre in 2004, open an office in Leeds in 2005 and open a London office focusing on construction, insurance, international engineering projects, and real estate in 2007.  It has successfully attracted a raft of major new national and regional clients while remaining faithful to its long-standing client base.
