Watson Burton’s Licensing and Gaming Unit provides a full range of services in respect of liquor licensing and gambling legislation.
Working from offices in Newcastle, Leeds and London, our lawyers have extensive experience of representing the licensing and gambling industry, giving pragmatic and cost effective advice to clients throughout the country.
Richard Arnot, Partner in the department is described by The Legal 500 as “experienced and respected”. He is also noted by them as a ‘leader in his field’.
Richard is a member, and former Regional Director, of the British Institute of Innkeepers and of The Association of Licensed Multiple Retailers. He has contributed to the Licensing Review and legal advice section of The Morning Advertiser as well as many other publications in the 14 years in which he has specialised in licensing and gaming. He has given interviews on radio and television on licensing topics.
The department represents national and regional pubco.s, hotel and restaurant chains, off-licence retailers and many others including police forces and Licensing Authorities.
The Unit is also well regarded for its work with gaming operators, having represented casinos, betting office chains, trading shops and amusement centres. Richard has contributed to Coinslot Magazine.
