David has over 30 years experience in the Construction sector with particular expertise in large litigation / arbitration disputes and in drafting bespoke contracts such as Prime Contracting for the Defence Estates. He is a consultant to the firm and is based in our London office.

David has worked on major disputes both nationally and internationally and has worked for clients including Bovis, Balfour Beatty, Gleeson, John Laing and Kyle Stewart.

He had conduct of the largest civil trial in the history of The Cayman Islands which lasted nearly a year. His work included negotiating the main contract for the construction of the Hyatt Hotel in Cayman and drafting the airport contract and the contract for the new Club Med in Turks and Caicos islands.

He was appointed marketing partner at Masons and was involved in developing the business worldwide including opening Masons first office in Hong Kong. He set up Hammonds construction and engineering practice from scratch working on major projects such as the Jubilee Line extension for London Underground.

For the past three years he has also assisted on training programmes for Falconbury.

David is lay member of the Architects Registration Board and is currently chair of The Prescription Committee.

He also sits as both a mediator and an adjudicator.

He is co-editor of the published book by Informa Plc “Partnering and Collaborative Working: An Industry and Legal View”. It has sold in 25 countries around the world.

He has spoken at various legal conferences in the UK, Europe and the Far East.
